Postgraduate Opportunities

The Institute runs an active post-graduate research program. We aim to turn out graduates who have the confidence and skills to succeed in the workplace. You may enrol in either a Masters or a Doctorate, both by research. Depending on subject matter, your qualification can be awarded by any of UTS's Faculties. Previous students have been enrolled in the Faculties of Science, Engineering, or Humanities. Some scholarships are available, usually for specific research projects, and usually only for Australian citizens or Permanent Residents. However we will also consider applications from international or local fee-paying students. In the latter case you will have greater choice in terms of the project subject matter.

In general, our projects address some aspect of nanotechnology, especially the interaction of light with mesoscale structures, nano-biotechnology of lipids and proteins, or nanotechnologies for sensors and biosensors. We use experimental and computation tools to undertake these projects. We especially like projects that span across a topic from the theoretical to the applied end.
